This conservation development preserves working farmland

The Fields of St. Croix is a conservation subdivision (conservation development) in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, about 45 minutes northwest of Minneapolis.

A 40 acre organic farm is part of this community. The farm abuts a two lane highway, preserving the rural viewshed for travelers. Placing homes away from the highway preserves rural character and adds value to home sites.

Children and adults volunteer together on the organic farm. Residents enjoy walking trails surrounding an undeveloped sparkling lake. 60% of the land is preserved as open space.
